GPS, iPod, Bluetooth Toys for Your Mini

Hi everyone. This is Brad from Advanced Navigation. We are new vendors on NAM. Just wanted to let the community know about a few products we offer. Advanced Navigation works specifically with VCommand, Inc. to offer three sophisticated products.

1) Hands free, eyes free GPS navigation system (VCom) that can be completely hidden or used as a portable. There is no screen or buttons because you speak to VCom in your natural sounding voice and VCom responds and interacts with you like a human co-pilot would. Everything a screen would show you, VCom speaks. Works wonderfully in the Mini. Seeing is truly believing when it comes to VCom. See the video at www.advancednavigation.com/mini

2) iPod interface cable (iWonder Cable) that allows you to control, charge, and play an iPod through the Mini Cooper's audio head unit with CD quality sound. The price is about 130$ (that includes shipping) which is much lower than devices like Icelink that basically do the same thing. www.advancednavigation.com/mini

3) Advanced hands free Bluetooth system (VControl). Allows you to use your cell phone without using your hands. Very handy if you live in Chicago or one of the 4 states that have already banned cell phone usage in automobiles.

Infomercial

Hi Brad,
I liked your infomercial.

Can the speech speed be adjusted on the VCommand? (Can it be programmed to speak faster)? Can it be programmed to speak in different accents, such as a female or male British accent? Is sound directed through the car's stereo speaker system? Does it mute the stereo when talking? Where does the mic mount? Can it be integrated into the oem bluetooth mic location, and still be compatible with bluetooth phones using a single mic? What splicing into the harness is required, and does doing so adversely affect other voltage-sensative electronics in the MINI Cooper?

Can the VControl bluetooth utilize the MFSW buttons of the New MINI?

No, there is only one speed setting for speech. That speed was selected for safety reasons. We used to make a harness that went through the stereo, but every time you were playing a good song loud, and VCom started talking, it would be super loud. The speaker you get for the hardwire harness is very clear and loud. No need to attach to audio system. We have sold many systems to MINI drivers with no electrical problems, it's a very simple 12v install (hot & ground). VCom and VControl are two separate systems, requiring two separate mics. The VCom doesn't control the VControl, and the VControl doesn't control the VCom. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!

Well, thanks for the reply.

If you happen to develop a product that incorporates the features I asked about, give me a call.

Can you provide any more detailed info on this? The installation instructions aren't MINI specific, and so I wasn't clear where this cable is installed. Also does the iPod display become unusable when the cable is active?

I'd love to see a comparison chart between the official MINI adaptor, ICE LINK, and iWonder.

Finally, will iWonder show mp3 text on the headunit?? I know that 2005 head units and ICE LINK sort of have this capability. I've got a 2003, and just wondering.

[EDITED BY OCTANEGUY]
Nevermind about the mp3 text (IDTags), I see the answer is here:

Thanks
