Installing bonet stripes

Has anyone tried to install the factory bonet stripes on their own? Can this be done or is it best left to the dealer? Does Mini provide some kind of template or do you simple put the stripes on the hood where it looks like they go?

This seems like it could be an easy job, but one that could also easily be screwed up.

First off did you already get the OEM stripes? I can make you any custom color combo you like. click on my sig pic.

Bonnet stripes alone are fairly easy to install. I have a step by step with pics I put together for intalls

PM me your e-mail and I will send you the PDF file.

Cheers

It's easy. download some instructions from one of the vendors here on NAM. Only word of caution is...take your time. don't rush and you'll do fine.

I'm also curious whether anyone thinks white bonnet stripes on a car with a body color roof would look dumb. My car is hyper blue.

Not if you follow through with it on the roof

I think it would look great. My wife and I put the bonnet stripes on my MC. It was easy and they look as good as if they had been professionally done. Also, if you want a contrasting pinstripe on the edge of the bonnet stripes you can buy the pinstripes at Auto Zone, O'Reilly's etc., for $2.99. Putting them on the edge of the bonnet stripes is very easy.......
