I think I remember seeing a commercial where one of the Mini's exploded before launch, and they had to carry someone out. I could be mistaken or confusing it with something else though.

You are correct. There was a misfire of one of the secondary systems (not the main rockets mind you) and one of the visiting team members was injuured. He was taken to the hospital by the on-site ambulance.

koolmini,

You've been telling us all about this for 3 weeks, you get me so excited that I demand that my wife sit down and watch a bunch of kool nerds launch MINI's with tomohawk missile engines, and then you get distracted by some shiny kars and miss it???

Pitiful man, pitiful!

According to Tivo.com, it's not going to re-run within the next two weeks either.

It wasn't that good..except some real drama. While one team tried to launch their MINI something exploded and sent one guy to the hospital.

it was about 4:20p yesterday afternoon, i thought we would take a nice drive (motor) up to the Bear Mountain Kar show, grab a bite to eat and be back in time to catch the show at 8p, at about 7:45 i realized that i goofed my plan, so i figured that i would catch the 11p re-run, got back at around 10:40p and fell a sleep before 11p (i guess the heat wore me out)

Yucca, if in fact they used Tomohawk engines, I know the local place here that once built the Tomohawk missles. If I can dig one up would you be willing to show us how it's done? It would be a fitting event for our group.

I'll stand back safely, with my MINI of course, and take pictures of your attempt.
