Did anyone cath the Auto Week this week? They did almost a 10 minute segment on the new Mini. They even compared it to the Bug, and Cruiser, at the same time complimenting BMW, saying they were doing a much better job marketing the Mini. Well, you need to watch it to understand i guess...?

 

I didn't get a chance to see it, but I'd be interested to know how they compared it to the PT and Beetle. I mean, those cars while nice don't even compare to the luxury that BMW has put into the MINI.

BTW, I'm sure most of you have seen the trailer for "Austin Powers Goldmember" where the MINI is a costar.

 

As stated in Truckin' magazine, the Pt Cruiser is getting a boost in power. They're dropping in a factory turbo that has been rumoured for awhile now. Due for the '03 model year. It's getting 215hp, 245lb/torque. I still hate that thing though. Only one I really like is the PT-10. The model with the viper conversion. Just my opinion.
In July's Road & Track they compared the SVT Focus, Civic Si, Hyundia Tiburon GT, and Nissan Sentra Se-R. I thought for sure the new Mini would be in that mix. That would of been a better test for the MINI or Cooper'S' than the PT, and Bug, IMO. But they did have a separate article on the Cooper'S' in the same mag.
