My new car (status #150 as we speak) is blessed with all manner of chrome to add to the luster. With daily research, I have come across the ultimate addition -- an all chrome roof!!! Yes, indeed, there is a picture on http://www.chromdesign.de (don't know how to make this a link) under the Mini Cooper tab of an all chrome roof. Note: the site and company spell it chromdesign without an 'e' after the 'm.'

Now what are the chances that this would work on a Cooper with a sunroof? I haven't tried to contact them, instead thought I would turn to the MCO worldwide experts, since I am a new participant. Any thoughts, please? HOW STUNNINg, especially for BVLGARI. Ciao.

I don't think I could ever get into something like that. I'm not very partial to chrome. I will say that scientifically it's not very sound. Chrome trapps in heat, so the inside of your mini would get extremely hot. I guess if your in a cold country it wouldn't matter.

Looks interesting, but I don't understand. Is it a giant piece of formed metal that's been chromed, and it just double-sided tapes to the top??

I did hear back from Chrom Design; learned that it is a complete roof without any opening for sunroof. I agree that it sounds a bit suspect if it is held on with what is practically double sided tape. The company said it works in car washes. However, I still maintain it looks REALLY COOL. Anyone tried it yet? Might be someone in the UK, Germany, Italy????

I too - think that the all chrome roof would be a bit much - can you imagine the reflection when the sun hits it just right?

the photo above has been altered to look like chrome.

I believe something like that would not be street legal in the US.

Working in a chrome shop long age, I chromed literally every part of a Harley for a friend. He got about two blocks down the road before being stopped the FIRST time. The ticket was for too much reflective surface. After four tickets he had some parts painted.

Drat, too much sparkle shouldn't be bad for BVLGARI, but you came up with a real problem: illegal glittering. "Back away from the car -- too much shine here!"
