Funny story about flat tire monitor

I thought you all might like this one. A coworker of mine came by to tell me that her sister had just test drove a new MINI that one of her friends just bought. She loves it by the way. However, she said her sister told her it had a button in the car that if you had a flat tire, you could push the button in order to re-inflate the tire until you can get to a shop.

I just thought that was funny. Either there was a misunderstanding about the flat tire monitor reset button, or the new 05's are just way cooler than I thought.

In addition to that, my '05 has a button that you can press to provide an extra 2 gallons of gas when you run out. As you said, it's way cool

Speaking of running out of gas, I found out the hard way a few weeks ago that if you are on fumes in the convertible, it wont let you put the top down.

When my MINI stalled turning a corner, after walking to a gas station, spending $15 for a can and a gallon of gas, I found that after filling her back up, the top worked.

Can you tell me where that button is eMINI? I could have used it!

Sure, it's the purple one in the center of the dash. But it only works if the wings on the key are facing the driver.

The salesman probably told her that to get the sale!

Then again, the salesman might actually be misinformed. He-he... humor intended.

I gave my terrier-mix doggie a ride to the vet in my 05 MC a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time for him in the car. He usually just conks out and sleeps in the passenger side front seat. Half way back home the falt tire monitor came on. I find a safe place and pull over and get out and check all tires. All a-okay. Get back in and look at my snoozing dog--his head is right on top of the reset button!

Plus, I had to deal the the car freaking out because something was in the passenger seat without the seatbeat on. Anyone know how to turn that dang bell off?

to fool the seat chime, insert anything the width of the seatbelt catch into the recepticle. It has an optical sensor.
