It's Sunday January 12, 2003, and here's the MINI Thought Of The Day:

Toronto weather has been crap this past week. MY LY/B MCS looks like it's been through a battlefield - mud, caked on slush, street grime and salt everywhere. Can you believe how dirty the back end and rear window get? I must use a container of windshield washer solution every few days or so. The headlight washer drinks the stuff!

Anyway, they're calling for more snow, so even though it's sunny (and cold) now, I don't think we're going for a car wash. But My Sharona has been a little snow plow over the past few weeks, working very hard to get me where I need to go. She deserves some kind of clean up.

Got it! I'm gonna wash the floor mats. Those nice deep rubber babies have built up a good layer of gunge - so into the laundry tub they go! And I think I'll clean the windows and mirrors while I'm at it. At least some of her will shine.

(I know this wasn't my usual "driving inspired" type of MTotD, but I haven't driven the MINI yet today, so what d'ya expect?)

Hi rygold,

I think your post actually is "driving inspired". My Sharona's dirt and grime is the product of happy motoring experiences. A MINI that is spotless all the time is a MINI that is not having fun. Don't feel bad if she's sitting there all dirty for a bit, because underneath the gunk is a grinning grille.

Spots::Spots::and more SPOTS

The only downside [if you can call it that since it was my choice of color] to a Pepper White car is the spots when it decides to not really rain, but spit/mist.

* * * covered * * * I would wash her, but then it would actually rain that same day. I was inside working from home for 2 days so I didn't drive anywhere and I was really embarrassed to go outside to see what my car looked like.

I have a car cover, but can't use it on my street since i don't have the little flappy thing in the window out so that they can see my parking pass. :

As I look across the lake at TO. all I see is snow. So if your sick of the snow it's sunny here in Lewiston today. I may mow my grass this afternoon.

Hey jack:

You're in Lewiston? Maybe we should organize a MINI Ski/Board Day at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville?

Rygold

While you were getting snowed in on sunday Laurie and I took our first mini adventure. We went rainbow hunting at Niagara Falls.

As for a get together in Ellicottville I'll have to pass on that one. I was involved in a pit road accident at Watkings Glen a few years back and this old bod couldn't handle any skiing. How ever we could plan a trip to the new casino in NF , or when the scca starts up the tsd rally and solo season, Come on down. That invite goes to all of our mini friends.

Great Photo jack!

I've kept it in my permanent MINI "stuff" collection. It's particularly beautiful because the MCS is LY/B! My fave!

And a wonderful view of the Canadian side. Well done!

Let me know about the tsd rally. I'm there. Anyone else in the neighborhood joining in? Apparently the night ends gambled away!
