The difference between non-GIAC'd and GIAC'd, in layman's terms...

NIGHT AND DAY (at least in relation 19%, 380cc...see below sig).

I had my MINI GIAC'd a couple of weeks ago and thought that 'Winston' ran great...until the dealership reset my ECU to stock.

During that subsequent week or so, the MINI felt WEAKER than I can ever remember. On top of that, no matter how smoothly I tried to drive, 'Winston' was, well, he was SPAZZY. It didnt even sound as 'mean' when doing the 10mph 'Pimp Roll' through the local Best Buy strip mall (oh, like you've never done it, lol).

Anyway, long story short, I just got 'Winston' Re-GIAC'd today at Helix in Philly (part of the free GIAC'd RE-flash benefits offered by the kind folks at Helix). IMMEDIATELY out of the box on Martha St, I could feel the difference. On the 1 1/2 hour drive back home, I was getting power everywhere and had plenty of "umph" even in 6th. I even checked a few times to make sure I was in the gear I thought I was in - 5th felt like a stock 3rd, etc. I can now 'Pimp Roll' with pride once again.

So I know these observations have been made before, but I'm just too happy with GIAC (and the guys over at Helix) not to publicly praise them.

After I GIAC'd (nice past tense verb by the way) at Helix I had v39 done. Apparently, they didn't reset the entire ECU because afterward, there was no change in performance. However, the service department did note that non-stock programming had been found. I was not dismayed.....I'm out of warranty in September and this hasn't led to any problems. It must have been wonderful to re-discover how much of a difference GIACing makes.

Non-GIAC'd = nice ride
GIAC'd = fantastic ride
