Has anyone attempted removing the front/rear MINI emblems and Cooper/Cooper S nameplates?

I have ordered an S, and I think that the front emblem is a bit crammed between the grille and scoop. I'm a huge fan of clean lines and un-cluttered rear decks.

On a different forum someone had posted that the front and Rear MINI emblems were both glued and pinned, but the Cooper/Cooper S plates were only glued. And yet another person hinted that there is a no-cost dealer option to have your MINI de-badged.

I stopped by my dealer (Peabody, MA) last night and posed the same question to the G.M. and he couldn't answer for sure. He said that no one has asked for that yet and he would get back to me when he found out.

If this thread generates any interest I will post my findings.

In the meantime any information would be appreciated.

minichrist, post your findings. I'd be interested as I too prefer a clean look.

That was one thing I insisted my dealer did not do - no tags, stickers, plates or anything else MINI did not have on the car.

It's not the reason that I didn't buy the S, but I agree with you about how the MINI emblem is crammed in there in front of the scoop. Good luck!

NOT ONLY do I love the MINI emblem and S emblem on my MINI, but I'm also adding a "MINI" sticker that I'm creating for my E-Z PASS box so it doesn't look so unsightly.

I love the emblems so much that I have dozens of shirts, keychains, etc...all with the MINI emblems. I even had a custom-made leather MINI jacket!

I've actually ordered additional MINI badges/emblems so I can put them on the doors and rear quarter panels... I also placed them on my sunvisors...

From what I've heard, the mini front and back wing emblems have guide pin holes. I'll run some dental floss across one of the badges tonight to see if it's true.

The Cooper S emblem on the back doesn't have guide pin holes. And even better, they're just about the easiest emblems I've ever removed from a car (i.e. the sticky glue residue was easily rolled off of the body with my thumb without any solvents).

I don't know how much this helps, but if you watch the video in this thread at about minute 11:20 the MINI is being driven out of the production area - with no badges front or back. I couldn't see any guide holes. In the next scene, however, the badging is in place. It might just not be a good view, I dunno. (Oh, this segment is showing a Cooper - although if you pay attention, they also show some clips of Ss in different parts.)

Personally, I like the badges on the Cooper. I am undecided about the small front badge on the S.

Just removed the rear cooperS emblem and also my front license plate few days back. It's easy, and didn't have any dirt deposit around the edges of the emblems.

I like the new clean look...

Just checked the car, and yes, there are guide pins in the front badge. Not sure about the back though (was too lazy to pull off the plastic interior trunk panel to check).

Thanks for all the input. I'm still waiting to hear back from my dealer about whether or not they will do the work for me. As soon as I find out I'll throw it on here.
