Four silver R83 5-star (aka Daytona) wheels, with center caps, and two Goodyear 195/50x16 runflat tires with 50% tread. Wheels are in good condition with a few minor, touched-up nicks and scratches, nothing serious, hence the price of $350 OBO. Located in So Cal. Can e-mail pictures.

I love those wheels and finally have my MINI. However I haven't had time to sort out anything with the car yet (such as whether or not I got the accessories I ordered or how to turn on the radio). You will probably have sold the R83s by the time I am ready. Meanwhile I am curious what wheels and tires you decided to replace them with. That's such a hot topic here on NAM. Best wishes.

 

My '02 Cooper still has the R83s it came with from the factory. This is an extra set I bought to put autocross tires on. However, before I could use or even mount sticky tires on the R83s, I came across a set of R84s, which are slightly lighter. But I'm still in the market for some much lighter AK Monzas or SSRs. Once I obtain some of those, the R84s will probably become extra street wheels since I like both the R83s and R84s.

 

I don't know the AK Monzas, but SSR Comps are beautiful in person. The R84s are about 1(?) pound lighter than the R83s so I wonder how much difference they will make for you. Mine has the R83s and Dunlop runflats and is the first and only MINI (distinct from Mini) I have driven so I can't even imagine. I was considering SSR Comps (or a coupla other brands I saw on the "Show me your wheels" thread), but my neighborhood's streets are bombed out and it has the highest incidence of auto break-ins in my town so I need to be pragmatic. And having only one parking space (labeled "compact" at that--which has not discouraged my neighbors from squeezing in their SUVs) precludes storing spare wheels. Thanks for the information.
