Another reason to love my MINI
I drove out of the Charlotte airport's satellite parking today, and had to stop at the booth to pay for my stay. As I pull up to the window, the lady pauses... looks over at me and says "Can you back up for me, I can't see your tag". I chuckled a second at her question and beamed with pride at my little short car. "Too short for the camera, huh?", I replied. She smiled.
It was too short for the stationary camera to view my license tag. So I backed up a second for her to view it and match it to my ticket.
In a world of obese SUV's and tanks, it was a quaint reminder of how much I like being the opposite, in my tiny go-kart-mobile.

I was at the post office today to pick-up my mail, while inside an older gent asked me if that was my MINI out in the lot.We had a very nice chat about the car,he was very interested, so I let him sit in the cockpit,he took me up on that, but declined the ride I offered. His wife was sitting in their minivan, and was smiling the whole time
Very interesting. So let's see if I got this right... At airport parking lots, they take a picture of you're license plate when entering and match it up when you're leaving? Is that right? To make sure the same car is leaving that came in. Interesting security. A good thing.
I probably worded that wrong so let me rephrase. She was just recording the tag number for the outgoing receipt. There's no way I see possible for the automated ticket generator to record your plate going in.
