how many are frustrated soon-to-be owners?

i think i mentioned it already, but i ordered my mini from morristown mini in nj. they said to expect a mid-july delivery.... i'm going crazy. i haven't called them yet (i ordered a few weeks ago and they said to give it a month and they'll have firm ship dates) because i know once i start i'll be wanting to call them all the time (i've got a bit of OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder).

anyway, i'm so impatient. i just want to have my new car. i get so jealous passing other minis on the road. i've even considered finding the same car on the lot somewhere even though it'll cost a few thousand dollars more (since i opted out of some of the options like the cold weather package and DSC).

hehe, i live right near prestige mini and pass them every day on my way home from work. they have a similarly configured mini on their lot and i've considered just calling them to see what it is. i ordered MCSC, orange w/ blue top, but that one is an orange MCSC, but looks like it has a black top.

grr... gimme gimme gimme!

Just remember, good things come to those who wait.
The longer the wait, the sweeter the treat.
You want to feel better? Some of us in California had to wait close to a year for their Toy...

Patience is a virtue

How about this:

I am expecting mine 13 June or so, then I'll have 3 days to drive it here in Italy before having to ship it stateside. It will take about a month and a half before I'll see her again.

I already have plans for the precious 72 hours or so that we will spend together! I don't have OCD, but I do already have a loose itinerery on where to go etc during that time.

We in America are not used to having to wait for cars on a regular basis, but in Europe, where dealers keep very low inventories, this seems to be the par for car buying.

Hang in there!

You think your going nuts!?

Here is my scenario:

I decided to sell my 04' MCS to jump up into an 05' LSD equiped MCS.

December 1st i put in my order, Jan 12th its built! On Jan 27th the wheels are stolen off my 04' MCS which delay's me posting it for sale for just over a week. Another Member here on NAM who lives near me decides to sell his car too during the week i have my little incident. He sell's his car within 4-5 days no problem and makes a PROFIT off his 04' MCS.

When i finally get new wheels on the car i think i'm sitting pretty and can still sell it within 2 weeks when my 05' is scheduled to arrive. Well i post it for sale and wait.......

Feb 8th comes and my 05' suddenly apears at the dealership. Sadly i have to tell my MA that the 04' hasn't sold so i can't pick up the 05' yet. Almost 3 weeks go by and i don't get a single phone call, meanwhile my new 05' is sitting at the dealer begging for me to go pick it up!

Finally my 04' MCS sells on March 28th.... a week and a half after my dealership is forced to sell my ordered 05'. March 27th i order another 05' MCS. Now i've been without a MINI for over a MONTH! I'm dying since i've grown to live harmoniously with my MINI fix everyday!

Now my previous cars i had go through the order process moved INCREDIBLY fast, i got both of them within a month of being built(i received the 04' 3 weeks after putting in the order!). This car is taking forever!

I ordered March 27th, it was built on April 19th. The car landed at the Charleston VDC this past Saturday the 7th. Now with both previous cars i had the incredible experience of having the cars get from teh VDC to my dealer in South Florida within 1-2 days! So i'm expecting a call from my MA on Monday or Tuesday to pick the car up. I call on Tuesday to see whats going on and now he says that he expects it Friday or maybe even Monday!!! ARRRRRRGGHHHHH.

I'm going nuts! I've had to go three autocrosses now driving other people's cars! I want my MINI back! I want my new and improved MINI....NOW!

Thank you for letting me vent.......

I know how you feel. They have been toying with me, changing the start week several times, makes me want to scream! Mine is finally built and has now just left the docks for the 8 day trip over to the east coast. Only a few more weeks...

Ok I haven't had any delays but just knowing my baby is coming into port today alone is driving me nuts. If you check out the "Can't wait for May" thread you can see more of my rants and frustrations along with other folks.

...like my rants as well!

It's frustrating, but it will make me appreciate the vehicle all the more when I get it.

i'll have to agree with you on that one. i just spoke to the salesman and they are still waiting for a slot to get mine ordered. so, technically they have no idea when the car will be coming in.

I'm ordering mine next week; they told me 6 to 8 months!!! But, I'll be getting exactly what I want, and at MSRP, so it'll be worth it. What a nice Christmas present!

Just curious as to why you ordered from Morristown when you live close to Prestige. I ordred my MC from Morristown and it took 6 weeks from order to delivery.

Hi
Once your MINI was built and made it to the departure point, how long did you wait before it got loaded onto a boat? My MINI this morning was in the paint shop so it should be going through final assembly and quality control by friday/saturday then it will be ready for shipping...

I ordered mine March 17. Production weeks kept getting moved, then the Harmon Kardon delays.. argh.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I'll answer as well!

For me, my MINI made it to the docks April 29th, got on a ship May 5th. Just about a week. That sucks about the Harmon Kardon delay, man. But I have to thank you for that as well, as I think that is what made mine able to be built so quickly (ordered March 26th) - I'm expecting my car to arrive stateside (NY) tomorrow!

It all depends, my MCS made it on the ship the same day it finished production. But the ship didn't leave harbor for another 2 days after that.

Mine was in assembly yesterday and today, Saturday, is being transported to the port of exit. I'm hoping to be able to track it on the Wallenius site in a day or so.

Oh those wheels are being sold by Prestige, my dealer. They are about 1 mile away from where I work. Let me know if you go up there or if you need a hand w/ pickup.

Put my $1,000.00 down on 1-25-03 and ordered just what I wanted.

On April 19, 03 picked it up. Was just what I ordered except they "forgot" to order the auto windshile wipers.

Most exciting vehicle I ever ordered . Actually the only other car I ever ordered was a 68 Dart with a 383, all the rest I bought off the lot.

I think it came in Thursday morning and went through the VDC super quick and was taken to the dealer on Friday. the dealer is TATE MINI in Annapolis, MD.

Hows this for frustration. I'm stuck @ work doing my thing and my rents are at the dealer sending me pics of my car on my cell.
