Will 17x7 with +36 offset. 215/40/17 rub?
I'm currently shopping for wheels and the only offset they have is a +36 in the wheel I have..
Will I have problem with rubbing when running 215/40/17 tires?
I am planning to lower the car about an inch later on.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks.

With stock suspension you are right at the limit for rubbing with a +36mm offset. The 215/40-17 tires are OK but load rating is a bit lower than stock.
Trimming with a dremmel tool to the outer wheel arches in the rear would be needed once you lower your MINI.
aren't people running superleggeras (with a +37mm offset) on lowered cars?
is 1mm going to make a different?
I don't mind trimming a little, but I don't want anything rubbing the metal.
