2005 SCCA Solo 2 reminder
It's that time of the month when all good little boys and girls get to go out to HRP and "play".
The next Solo 2 is tomorrow May 1st at Hawaii Raceway Park in Kapolei/Campbell Industrial park.
8am Registration for Heats 1 and 2 (be prompt)
Heat 1: All Stock
Heat 2: ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP
12 noon Registration for Heats 3 and 4 (be prompt)
Heat 3: ESP, FSP, All Modified
Heat 4: All Prepared, STS, Street Mod
Hope to see you there. Spectators are free and welcome.
AND
SCCA Solo I track Lapping sessions on short track
May 15th. Sign up soon only two spots left open. Cost $50.
Or you can work as a volunteer and pay $25!
And you get lunch as a worker and this month some gifts!

It was good to see MINIs represented in HS,GS,ASP, and SM.....quite a good turnout 
This was definitely a speed course. I redlined 1st and 2nd gears. Maybe I should have shifted into 3rd
....for a quicker time.
For an H-Stocker, I was lucky to finish 10th in PAX

Great to see everyone.
Thanks to Eastsidemini for bringing Peter to Solo 2. Nice to have him for discussion and advice in the morning.
We were happy to see Latka and his Red classic Mini (for sale $8000).
6 MINIs participated of the 85 drivers for the day. Half were in stock classes.
PAX (handicapped for the class run in) times were good for 9th, 10th, and 15th.
It was a wide open course but there were enough tight spots that you needed to control entry speed now and then. Baronius told me " To get a low time... you have to drive like you're crazy". I guess I'm not crazy, or maybe I'm just sane. I told my daughter I didn't drive as well sunday, I drove like a grandma. She said "Yeah, right. I don't think so!". How did I loose my credibility???

Fresh MINIs welcome!
It was great to see so many MINIs (10?!?) out at autocross this month and I do think some of them actually "got bit" by the autocross bug (mosquitoes are plentiful at HRP)
96 drivers for the day. Including: G35 (5), BMW M3 (4), Mazda Miata (14), 240Z (6) and 350Z (1), WRX (4), WRX STI (5), S2000 (3), Lotus Elise (1)
H-stock
Kohu'ulaMINI (1st in class; Pax #6)
Erik808 (2nd in class; Pax #11)
(both did really well today!)

Even though the class results indicate a good showing, my PAX result reflects how difficult this course was for me. 
I can't remember the last time I ran an 80 second course and no clean runs
It was good to see a strong showing of MINIs at the track
4 newbies show up in modded form ( all S's of course!)
Kudos to all the MINIs that showed up, ran, and worked the course....it was a hot day (90+ degrees) by Hawaii standards
Hey, Blown-Lone-Star, hopefully your break-in period will be over for the next event

This is not an official Solo 2 timed event- it's for learning, a great time to get in about 20 runs in one day.

The number of MINIs equaled the number of Infinity G35s out at autocross.
But the results were anything but equal.
Congrats to the MINI drivers who enjoyed a very fast course.
About 104 drivers for the day (nearly a record)
Pax means place overall with handicap for respective class

We have a new King of the Hill at autocross.
Congrats to Mike W. for burning rubber on his way to:
First place in G-stock and 3rd overall in PAX for the day with 83 drivers.
Awesome job. Next up, go for first in PAX, make us proud.
The rest of us were just hoping for some dry weather.
