Okay, so I got hasty and subscribed to a few embarrassing magazines that I thought would have MC ads every once in a while. They don't and are sure an embarrassment to carry in the house!

So, which magazines would everyone vote on to be the most likely to have an MC ad every once in a while?

(I just hate the unfruitful trips to B & N or its ilk to find a rec mag sold out!)

Looks like Rolling Stone has had quite a few. Also - Motor Trend and Auto Week. I'm sure there are others - just can't think of them at the moment. I know others will pipe in with more info......

Try Esquire, good magizine plus a few MINI ads periodically.

 

....carrying that mag into the house! I enjoy looking at it! I find myself going past the MC ads, which still have been few. At least the mag's worthwhile!

I like your screen name. I'm too old to approve of the likes of "Eminem," but when it's combined with "Mini" (for Mini Cooper), it becomes quite palatable!

Check out James' site www. libraryofmotoring.info. Look under the Ads and inserts section- He very carefully lists the ad, the magazine where it came from and the page number. The list will let you know if the ad is an insert which means that it is only a subsription issue or if it is an ad that is in a newstand issue. At the very top of the list the HUNTER"S GUIDE is in blue. Click on it to find at least five pages of magazines that MINIUSA lists in- you'll be able to see when they advertise, how frequently, etc.

 

...and none of the ones on the shelf had the insert for the Kawasaki Jet Ski ad on p. 17.

Wonder how many of the subscribers know that the MC ads are valuable!!

If I had to pick a few titles, I'd subscribe to AutoWeek, Esquire, Outside, Playboy (which I saw was $1 an issue), and Rolling Stone. Men's Health doesn't have a lot of ads, but they often have ads not found anywhere else.

My favorite magazine is dwell, but despite the modern design content, they've never run a MINI ad. Seems like the same demographic.

Fascinating topic.

I have not encountered a MINI ad in a magazine. I have also not seen one in a newspaper or on television. I am impressed by James's compilation and it confirms the ads have not appeared in magazines to which I subscribe (no, not The Journal of Nociception).

However I am curious why "the MC ads are valuable!!" To whom? When did it happen?
