strange PPG glass

Our club met for lunch today and a member just had the windshield replace with a PPG version. While standing around chatting, I notice the glass near the top had a very strange contour. It had a pronounced lead in at the top that looked like a forhead. Then we checked the other Mini with PPG glass and noticed the same thing. I was just wondering if anyone else with PPG noticed this. If you stand along side and sight the centerline of the glass, it has a bulge near the top as it meets the header causing it to appear as if the Mini had two forheads

Is this very noticable? I was just about to finally get my windshield replaced after a direct second hit on one of my three rock chips, and I was planning on getting the PPG glass.

I didn't compare it side by side with my stock glass, but If you fallow the profile it will catch your eye. You probably won't notice it looking head on. I didn't notice until I was cleaning the outside of the windshield. If you ask to see the new glass, look at it from the side, top and bottom at the center line.

got my new PPG (windshield #7) yesterday.Just went out to check on the above mentioned "bulge" .It's really not all that noticeable and I'm not sure that it's any different from OEM.Doesn't bother me one bit, maybe it'll last longer than the previous 6,pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?

It was definitely different from all the minis I've seen. The first thing I thought was that this was a fix for all the cracking glass that has been mentioned. I don't think it looked bad though.

Has anyone replaced with PPG glass AND have the auto-wipers installed. Do your auto-wipers still work, or do you have to get MINI glass if you have this feature installed?

No broken glass yet.... just planning ahead.

I think I see what they're talking about, but it looks petty subtle to me. Cetainly not eye catching.

i just got mine replaced, and its a ppg...i think it looks flatter than my last two oem ones. also, less than two weeks of having it, i took a monster of a rock to the windshield to put a good sized chip in my brand new windshield no3.

I just can't win...maybe i should just take it out, then i wouldn't have to worry about it...right?
