saved my a$$! Neighbor decided to chop half the tree down seperating our properties, and it hangs over the driveway where I park my car. Well, I came out this morning and it looked like it had rained sap all over my car, literally. Well, started looking through some old cupboards and came across the Turtle Wax Bug & Tar and Sap (spelled just like that, with & and "and") Remover. Gave it a go and after three and a half hours it was all just a bad memory. I haven't waxed the car in at least 6-7 months, so I got super lucky. So, if anybody gets stuck in this situation, one vote for Turtle Wax.

 

Good news! It pays to never throw away all those old detailing products.

I bought some of Meguiar's version a while ago, but haven't had to use it. I thought I'd use it for bugs, but ended up using clay instead.

The Meguiar's says it will take off any wax on the car. Not sure if Turtle Wax is the same, but you might want to plan on doing some waxing this weekend.

 

It also works real well on rubber "boogers" that get stuck on your car from track events. Boogers are heated tire bits, chunks and shavings that fly off of other cars and at the race track at speed.



It's cheap, too. I usually take this stuff with me at the track.

 

I have a bottle of this stuff in my garage and it has solved many problems... I've got to admit that it is one of those products that I have mixed feelings about. I can still remember an ancient can of this stuff sitting on a shelf in my grandfather's garage... at least 20-30 years ago. Can a product like this really stay relevant with all of the advances in polymer finishes and clear coat? If only it didn't work so well....
