Hi all, just got this and installed this afternoon. Not great pics, but a very nice piece. Quality stuff.

Only 10 minutes to install

Really easy install, Four Torx and six screws and an electrical connector. Chrome handle for sale, see Maketplace!

Funny thing is..

I didn't think it was that expensive. Considering the front scoop is 299 on BFPs site. That 168 is for the whole handle assembly not just a two sided tape overlay.

I'm sure dropping all that weight in the rear has totally transformed the car's handling, right?

what is the weight difference?
Just wondering if it is different - compared to covering the other.

Well the difference is that one is real and covering looks bad and tacky.

Its so light back there now I can't get the car to quit swapping ends on freeway interchanges! Bought it for the aesthetic appeal. (I like carbon plastic as opposed to chrome plastic )

No worries, I actually believe there was a SLIGHT weight difference between the two. Ounces maybe, but actually noticeable. I was just trying to be funny with XAlfa because I think I noted a little sarcasm in his post.

It is a JCW part ordered from the Mini Parts counter at the dealer. It replaces the complete handle assembly on the boot. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but it is really growing on me, I really like it.

Part carbon, part plastic.

As I said in the post to 2per. It replaces the whole boot handle assembly. The part with the electric handle and license plate lights is plastic and the outside cover (actually molded into the piece? It is a complete part anyway ) is carbon.

As with me, at first I thought it was a simple thing. but now its just looking awesome! Im pretty sure this would be able to fit an MC right?

Now all they need to do is come up with some CF headlight rings..

I would imagine it would have no problem fitting an MC because the MC and MCS use the same boot right?
