Convertible top question

If I want to raise the front and back side windows after lowering the convertible top I have been pushing the button for the rear side windows, then the passenger window, and then the driver window. This seems kind of ridiculous to have to push all these buttons.

Then today I noticed in the manual it says on page 36,

"Once the opening procedure is finished and the indicator lamp has gone out, press and hold the button (the open button?) for more than two seconds to close the windows again."

But the next sentence says,

"During the closing procedure, (the window closing procedure above?) the folding roof is also closed." (Huh?)

I tried to test it by holding the open button until the top goes down and the red light goes out. I then pushed and held the open button for more than two seconds and nothing happens.

Has anybody else been successful in raising the windows this way?

On mine I just hold the roof open button untill the windows come up. I also have two buttons just above the rear view mirror with graphics of windows on them. One is one touch down for all the windows. The other one is all windows up, but you have to hold it down.

That's the only way I have figured out how to put them all down or all up. And yes you do have to hold the button down.

If you push the button over your head to put the top down, continue to hold it even after you stop hearing the motors work, after a few seconds the windows will go up. Don't let up off the button after the top goes down or it won't work. Try it!

Ok I'm a little lost. I have 2 sets of buttons above my rear view mirror. 1 is the open and close for the top, the other is open and close for the rear windows.

That's correct. My windows buttons will actually operate all windows. Rear first, and than fronts simultaniously.

And as in one of the previous posts. When putting the top down, just keep holding the button without releasing and eventuallly all windows will go up. (contingent that they were up when you started to put the top down, I believe).

Those buttons are for both front and rear windows. By holding it down, the back windows respond first, then (if you keep holding it down) the front windows react next - just like goaljnky said. The toggle switches for the windows only work the front windows.

Thanks for the info... Are these just little quirks everyone found or are these actually noted in the owner's manual?

OK, now I got it.

The wording in the manual made it sound like you had to press the top open button again. I was always letting go of it when the top finished opening because it sounds like the electric motor is still strugling to close the top. Now I see if you just hold it a bit longer the motor stops running and the windows go back up.

Also, since there are front window toggles down below, I thought the window buttons above the windshield were only for the back seat windows. Especially since if you push them it is the back windows that start going up or down first. Now I see if you hold them longer they also open or close the front windows.

Seems like there are five ways to do everything on this car. Wonder what other cool tricks I am missing out on? Better read that manual some more.

Thanks for the help,
Kris

The trick I like the most is opening the top with my key, while standing quietly away from the car and some unsuspecting person admiring the car.

The funny thing about it is:

When I was buying the car I asked the MA to demonstrate the feature. To which he replied: "Hah? It can do that?" I guess he learned something new that day. Wander if he used it as part of his sales pitch afterwards?

Look at that, you learn something new everyday. Too bad Boo's top is broken and won't go down or I would go outside and try it.
