V710 psi?

Has anyone run the 710 215/40/16s yet? If so what was your impression? What pressures did you run?

Great tires. Much better wear than S04's, grip is better too.

Still fine tuning the pressures and temps but start at about 39 front, 35 rear.

Ladies 1 winner at Fontana Pro-solo won easily, and this was her first time in the Mini with 710's. Wait until she gets some seat time.

Thanks. I'll look up the results. I'm new to the mini. Going to take delivery and a week later give it a try in Jax, Florida, southeast divisionals. Should be interesting after driving a honda s2000, but at least I get a GS time against Mark Chiles. The tire pressure you guys in FWD run is a whole new world.

That was her (Mary Medicus) first time on 710s? Ouch!
What other prep has been done to the car?

The Tire Rack had them in stock 2 weeks ago, backordered now. About $160 plus shipping.

I have run V710s in 205/50-15 on 15x7" rims at autocross on old asphalt surfaces at
34 psi in the front and 30 psi in the rear. My impression is that I could run them even a few psi less. It may depend on your driving style, sidewall height and suspension mods.
They are very good tires but they do wear faster than Kumho victoracers or Avon Tech R tires.

Wear appears to be better than the Hoosier S04's - but too early to tell.

Car prep is typical GS, exhaust, airfilter, plugs, wires, brake pads, SSR wheels, SA Koni's, Schroth harness. Car is optionless, except for LSD and bonnet stripes.

This was Mary's first time in thsi Mini, she drove my 03 Mini at two or three local events last year.

Ran on my new V710's this weekend at an autocross school. They are 215/40/16's. I really really like them. Ran 41psi/front and 38psi/rear and the car handles well. Pretty nuetral on power, just a slight push. Lift the throttle at turn-in for a little oversteer. No surprizes other than the wheelspin I was getting in fast sweepers even with the LSD. As far as wear goes I have to say it looks pretty good. Better than the Hoosiers so far. I had a co-driver and between the 2 of us and the various instructors I'd say we made about 60 runs on a 35 second course over 2 days with a rotation on the second day. (good black top) The tires are just barely down to the wear bars. The tires came from Tire Rack a few weeks ago. I guess they're on back order already. Wish I had got 2 sets now.
