Miniless and pouting =(

Just looking for sympathy (come on you know you've begged for pity before )

Took my new baby to Century last Monday and supposed to pick it up tomorrow, then at 5 today Jim called to tell me they had a little problem (ended up with the wrong seat cover) and it won't be ready till mid-next week. How will I ever survive? I wanted to do the dinner this weekend in Charlotte to meet up with you guys ... sniff

Do have to point out that Century is great - offered us a rental car until the baby is ready. Just won't be the same driving a Honda

OK I'm done with the whine session .. back to your regularly scheduled discussions.

ps .. pass the cheese

That's a real bummer!! Wouldn't they offer you a loaner MINI or is there such a thing?

Welcome to M2C2.

I am sorry to hear about the MINI not being ready. I know you are disappointed.

Put some miles on that loaner car. Please come join us for dinner on Saturday in Charlotte. We will be glad to have you there even without your MINI. Seeing all the MINIs at dinner and meeting a bunch of MINI owners should cheer you up.

Moonpie

Most dealers do not keep MINIs in loaner service due to their great demand. Century has been kind enough to let me drive a MINI demo for a couple of hours, but for overnight needs I have had everything from a Z4 to a Toyota. It just makes you appreciate your MINI more when you get it back.

Thanks
George

A Z4 could be fun

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Not much of a consolation I know, but at least they put you in a halfway decent car. When I was having trouble with Tweety1, Century put me in a Mitsubishi, which I called a MakesMeBit#*y.

I've heard from both Tarzan and Smokey4 that the Z4 is disappointing. Visibility sucks and the doors rattle.. They were both very happy to get their MINIs back!!!

FYI, Flow uses MINI loaners. I should know because I wrecked one (not my fault of course). Maybe they stopped loaning them after that.

Sorry to hear that it isn't ready, but as others have said you're more then welcome to come to Charlotte in anything with wheels

So I take it you guys didn't even go down to look at the new rally lights??

Yes the Z-4 was a bit of a disapointment, but it still was fun with the top down.

Drove down to G-ville yesterday to pick up the rental and Brent took us in the back to check out the Mini. The rally lights were on but one of them was very loose, he said they'd be perfect by the time we picked it up Wed but I'm a bit nervous. They hadn't put the bonnet stripes on at all yet. He said they have a guy come in and do it. That wasn't what I expected - I assumed they did it. Should I have just purchased them and done them myself and saved? (oh the questions in life). Showed us the seat cover and how the heating element had burned through, car looked so naked without the seat cover!

Will definitely be glad to head down Wed to pick it up and get moving. Have a trip to Atlanta on Friday and I'm determined to be in my ride!

We'll miss Charlotte today son is still sick and Kev and I are sniffly now, I want Spring to arrive SO bad!!!!!!!

oh, we ended up with a Toyota - not bad but darned sure not a Mini!
