Call Classic MINI, one of the sponsors of NAM. It's only about $40 and you get a discount for being a NAM member.

People seem to love their parcel shelves so much that I have very very very rarely seen someone sell one second-hand.

The rubber lining is thick and has ribs. It looks to be an awesome way to prevent items from sliding around.

I bought mine from Classic a couple weeks ago and was quoted...

"Euro Parcel Shelf w/ rubber lining $64.66"

so don't pay more than that.

You are not the only one that has told me that Classic quoted that price. I specifically told them tray only. The $74 is tray and liner +$10 s/h. I haven't actually made anything, however, Uncle John at www.metroplexmini.org described what he did and he will sell you one for $3 + shipping. He has a template.

I too am VERY interested in the Euro parcel shelf, but before I order one from Classic MINI, I wanted to ask a few key questions:

Is the Euro Parcel shelf sold by Classic MINI the actual OEM part? Or is it a 3rd party knock-off? I am very determined to use only OEM parts wherever possible with my car.

Are there different colors available? The reason I ask - if I'm not mistaken, with different interiors, the color of that area of the dash may vary... so in order for the parcel shelf to truly look OEM, it has to match the rest of the interior.

What color is the rubber liner? Black, I hope...

Thanks for any info you guys have, especially those of you who have ordered and installed one!

The parcel shelf is an OEM part. I *think* the underside of the dash is the same color for all dash color schemes.

rsoni - any info back from uncle john? I'm happy to make my own liner, but if he's providing them at a reasonable cost...

Yes, it is an OEM part and will match perfectly. Liner is black/charcoal colored and it looks perfect!

I sent him one last week. PM me on MetroplexMINI.org for info. I'm listed there as Uncle_John. It started as kind of a joke after I saw that MINI was charging $40 for a rubber mat. I commented to one of my MINI buddys that any aerospace engineer worth a flip could make one for two bucks. The rest is history . . . and a bit of a legend in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

I recived the euro parcel shelf and instlled it today. Uncle_John's liner is great. it fits nices and the black color goes with the color of the shelf. Good Job Uncle_John.

Eric_Rowland: UJ charges $2.00 + shipping for the liner, which is very reasonable and i would recommend to anuone out there looking for a shelf liner.

Dang, local boy goes nation-wide with word-of-mouth advertising! I just hope UJ will still talk to all his buds at MetroplexMINI when he hits the big time with his parcel shelf liner!

How do you get a hold of UJ? What is his e-mail or user name here on NAM?

infin3, I'd leave him a PM here on this board -- his username is Uncle_John.

I have liner SN#00000007, much less expensive than the liner that is "supposed" to go in it and is just as functional!

Purty much found me, today. I don't spend a lot of time on this board, too big. Usually hang around MetroplexMINI.org. I think I'm Uncle_John on both boards.

And, yes Jeff, I'm over here getting rich, $2.00 at a time. I'm saving up for ATS dyno-day, only have to sell 20 more by Saturday. woo hoo.
