no start issue

Haven't posted in quite a while. Car was running fine, but decided to complete a front brake pads and rotors replacement. My front brake sensor was still good, didn't run down to it and was able to pop it out and push it into the new brake pads. Used all OEM rotors and pads. Pumped the brake pedal to build up pressure again before starting the car, so car wouldn't roll if I tried to hit the brakes. After buttoning things up, tried to start the car and nothing. I have my foot on the brake pedal, when I push the start button, no crank, nothing. Thought it was a battery issue, but my battery is new and I just recharged it back to max with my trickle charger. My brake pedal is stiff and the steering wheel feels locked. I did see a couple of times a steering wheel icon on the dash with 00.00.00 underneath it, but it doesn't show a padlock next to the steering wheel.

I ran an obd scanner on it, and got two error codes:
  1. 5E5A - Brake pad front replacement error, error present and stored, error would cause a warning indicator light, - however I never had a light.
  2. 2F8F - Engine shutdown time, plausibility, signal or value below threshold, error present and stored, error would cause a warning indicator - not sure what this looks like.
Tried to google the issue, it could be so many things but not sure, could use some expertise here.
  1. brake booster check valve?
  2. brake vacuum sensor?
  3. a faulty vacuum pump
  4. a failed brake booster

Any clues?

Check the brake light switch.
Manual or auto transmission?

Manual. What should I be looking at for the brake light switch?

Do you have a scan tool capable of monitoring CAS live data?
If so, clear the ELV counter and then monitor the brake light switch status, clutch switch status, ELV status, and terminal 50 status specifically before and after trying to start the engine. Post your results. Do any of the four live data statuses fail to change state when trying to start engine?
