Did I find the hands free Bluetooth module?

Was told the module was in the boot. Peeled back some trim and believe I've found it. Can anyone confirm? I bought a used one on eBay but the module looks slightly different albeit from a r55.

I was afraid that was the case. Other side of boot has the tire monitor module.

Anyone know where the Bluetooth module is located on the r55?

Car has Bluetooth so no question there

Google says boot area. Are you saying that it's under the dash behind the radio? I thought that was gen I stuff. Going to peel back the other boot side today and have a look. Thanks for your help so far.

So I have a base model 2008 mini clubman r55 with the following options that are causing problems with my search.
Navigation
Hi-fi radio
Satellite radio
CD changer in the secret compartment
Spare tire in the boot/trunk
Bluetooth with iPod adapter

This is my screen. Everything thing points to the Bluetooth module. My auxiliary does not work either nor can I talk to the car when I push the steering wheel button. It asks for a command and I can't get it to do anything because it can't hear me?? Cigarette lighter fuse was blown but changed it and it works fine now. Bought new auxiliary and USB part and it still doesn't work. I'm lost.

The bluetooth antenna must be bad? Its the black box might be under the seat or under the dash. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...a/84506928461/

Is there any way the module could be under the driver seat. I removed the passenger seat and found a box containg the speed control and satellite box.

The part I have might be to big to be fit behind the radio. Not excited to pull all that out without knowing for sure. The part you mentioned that could be my issue is probably behind the radio area. Trying to find the part I bought already and see if that works. If not, I'll try your part.

Since most mini's came with run flat tires, many modules were located in a false floor area in the boot/trunk. They didn't make 15" run flat tires back then and the base came with a spare. This base model is loaded with options too.

Appreciate your help. I'm getting real familiar with this car now. LoL

Ok i see you have the satellite box option. It might be under the driver side seat then. Check that place also. Let us know what you find.

Found it under the driver seat. Didn't have time to remove the seat but did peel back some of the case to reviled the module.
Fourth time looking and stuck Gold. Crossing fingers this solves my Bluetooth issue. I'll report more this weekend. Thanks guys.

New part did not fix my issue. Looking into the antenna you mentioned. Only item in the box under the driver seat was the MULF2 module.

ECS TUNING GUY please point me in the right direction or location of the black box Bluetooth antenna you spoke of. It's not under either seat and not in the boot. Any chance it's under the rear seats?
If it's behind the radio area, I believe I can get to it. That is if it's not behind the speedometer or under the dash.

Thanks again and anyone else that has a suggestion please post.

Hello,

My name is Mike.

Its somewhere, i have seen them under the seats most of the time. Only other thing is to follow the wire of the cable that's similar.

I have seen some under the dash in the aftermarket upgrade kit MINI used to have, maybe it there?

Hey Mike.

Appreciate you help tremendously. I'm currently looking at the stubby antenna area as water has made its way into that area via a old seal around the base. I have the headliner down and going to replace the antenna too alongside the Bluetooth thing. Maybe replacing the antenna might clear up some fuzzy stations and whatnot. Since my car has satellite radio and navigation, I'm having issues finding a replacement antenna. See Pic attached for my part.

It has three wires with fiska connections.

I completely removed the top stubby antenna from the car and was surprised that I still got FM radio stations As clear as before. Since navigating and satillite radio would not be used, is it worth replacing the whole unit? Is Bluetooth tied in to the stubby antenna? I'm assuming there is a separate antenna, like you mentioned with the block box. Is the FM stations come from a separate antenna module too? Maybe a window one?
Thanks for your reply

Found the amplifier for FM radio. Appears to be in good shape. Did not find the black Bluetooth one in that area. Dreading the radio removal and search for that module. I might need to order that part now so I'll have it when I find it. Thanks again Mike

Hello,

Antenna replacement is the full unit. Most people replace that, we sell a bunch of them. And it fixes the gasket issues,

FM antenna is rare but it could be bad, hard to tell without digging into it. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/65203423829/

Follow that one wire that goes to the main unit, its an aerial fakka cable with a blue or black end. Its got to be somewhere?

Thanks
Mike

Thanks again Mike. I feel as if I'm really getting to know this R55. Had several minis (R60, R58 and R53) in the past but had reliable ones I guess.
The car is for my son who does not drive a stick shift but is learning. Bluetooth is important for him as it's hands free and kids are tied to their phones these days.
As a result of removing the passenger seat last week, I'm getting a air bag warning light. It went away for a couple of days then returned once it started raining. Got the light on a day it was raining so I'm assuming moisture in the air may be the cause. Whole nother issue. LoL
Thanks again. Would love someone on the forum that has been through this to chime in.

Glad to help, I removing the seat, you have to disconnect the battery, otherwise you will get airbag light. I would run a scanner that can read MINIs like this https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...020sch01a~scf/

If it comes back something else is going on.
