Hey everyone

I need a new right front axle for my r53. It's leaking axle fluid and boot is torn. Car still drives. But I don't want to risk it. My car has a quaife lsd. Would any 03 r53 axle work, or do I need a specific one with the quaife lsd?

 

Hopefully others will chime in, but I believe the consensus is to avoid aftermarket axles (better off rebuilding a genuine MINI axle) and that you shouldn't need a different axle to accommodate a Quaife LSD.

 

I don't know the answer with regards to compatibility with your Quaife Lsd.
Last time I spoke with@WayMotorWorks of Atlanta,Ga - They can rebuild or have rebuilt OEM axles. I imagine they can help and answer your question

they have kits on the regular parts sites

once you get the cv joints cleaned you can see the condition clearly / easily

 

If you have a genuine MINI original axle then rebuild it. The aftermarkets are more junk than good, as I've seen more problems with aftermarket than them actually fitting right. Also the aftermarkets don't hold the power like the originals. We rebuild them all the time as MINI discontinued the originals.
