Need assistance identifying this part

Today I was able to get the engine out of my R60 S All 4, however, on the way out we broke the item pictured and I can't figure out what it is in order to get a replacement.

This came from the firewall side of the engine, it appears to thread into a hole that goes down to the oil pan, and then the head of it is crimped onto a hose that feeds up to the valve cover. We thought it may be an oil pressure sensor but looking those up RockAuto looks nothing like this unit. Also, the head is made of plastic and what goes through the hollow bolt is also plastic.

The part number appears to be along the lines of 7 608686-02

Does anyone have any thoughts? Many thanks, it's been a big busy day and finding out my AC compressor is also seized and I broke the tensioner pulley arm trying to remove tension from the belt.

I believe that pipe routes up to the intake pipe. Looks like you broke the tubing adapter part, which you’ll need item #1 here:

Here is one source for that tube kit:

Hard to tell from your picture if you’ll be able to reuse your threaded plug. If not, make sure your kit comes with a new one.

Awesome, thanks so much!! Just before I closed my eyes last night I found the hose with the part I broke on it on RockAuto as well, I need an AC compressor too apparently so I may get that order in today. Thanks for the lead and confirmation!! Back at it this morning with the timing chain/clutch/oil pan job.
