MC40 Valve Cap

I'm looking to complete a set of MC40 tire valve caps (see photo). I have two so I'm searching for two more. And, yes, I realize they're as rare as winged kangaroos (maybe more). Anyone have one or two hanging around?

Did those come with the MC40 originally or were they an accessory available at the dealer? I thought I had all the original items from my MC40 but valve caps are new to me. I'd be interested in a set too if more were unearthed.

I have no idea where they originated. I've owned the car for over 7 years and it came with two MC40 valve caps. I've searched extensively and have never found others or a source.

There’s a set on eBay right now.

The part number (36110391966) still shows as available at Seattle Mini, but I’ve had issues with their site not being correct in the past.

Your eBay link shows seller as "m2money"...
Perhaps the seller is one of the lucky few that just happened to have a set sitting on their shelf for all these years.
However- consider it a gamble @$105. (Includes shipping), and only 28 transactions/seller rating. (???)...
But what a score that would be for something so rare and seemingly elusive.

@cooper48 You going to snag that set on eBay? I'm tempted but don't want to steal them out from under you since you've been searching. Not to mention, I'd be scared to put them on the car and lose one since they're apparently so hard to come by.

Honestly, it looks pretty legitimate to me. The seller has over double the number of sales as ratings (100% positive) and appears to mostly be selling BMW parts/merchandise. And that photo isn’t a stock one. As yellowed as that packaging is, it probably has been sitting on a shelf for years.

@cooper48 , are the two that you have actually brass? I have some black jack valve stem caps, but they’re plastic, if memory serves.

Nice find btw.
Just out of cuiosity, I did a seach yesterday for these caps but came up empty. I forgot or neglected to even search eBay.
Coincidentally;
After 10 - 15 years of fruitlessly searching for the official Mini pen that went MIA, which came with my Mini when I bought it new - just when I gave up hope of ever finding one - I scored one on eBay for $12. It was a total fluke and by sheer chance.
The seller had no ratings. I was his first buyer.

To all: I am definitely not paying $105 for a set of four, new or otherwise, so jump on it. But they may be the only set in existence. The two I have are brass originals. I'm just going to use them on the driver's side so I only see them when I drive. The passenger side has Union Jack caps.
