JCW F56 JCW AWD Clutch Dump
F56 JCW AWD Clutch Dump
Anybody know how the durable the AWD drivetrain (clutch onwards to wheel) is to handle a redline clutch dump?
Do any of you do it all day long without issues?
or sometimes?
Has anybody broken anything doing it?
I ask because the Clubman is a pretty heavy car, and AWD clutch dumps can really tax everything. I don't want to break stuff.
Car is lightly modded with intake and JB4 Stage 1.

Thanks for the POV and fundamentally, I agree....
However....
I'm wondering if anybody has experiences of anything breaking because of a clutch dump?
Usually cars have a confidence factor in clutch dumps based on experience.

As a person who has acted as starter at New England Region autocross events for many years, I offer the following.
I have seen Evo and STI do the redline and sidestep the clutch launch many times. The owners have broken various pieces of driveline annually, including CV joints, axles, diffs, transfer boxes, transmissions, and clutches.
Never seen a Mini try it. For those noted above, the results are spectacular, but the thrill is very expensive. My best example is Mark Daddio, a multi-time National Champion. Ask him what it cost!
Perhaps you could do the research, and report back. Before you start though, renounce any notions of Warranty, and set aside a few thousand.
Cheers,
Charlie
