R53 ABS sensor issue
R53 ABS sensor issue
Hello, folks. I replaced both front ABS sensors because I had ABS/tire pressure lights on. I should also say that I my speedo stopped working simultaneously. I understand that it's an ABS sensor. Using an Autel MK900 scanner I'm getting readings on the right front (also readings on both rear wheels) but not the left front. When I removed the old ABS sensor from the left front wheel the male end (part of the harness) disintegrated in my hands because the plastic was old and brittle. I was able to stick it into the female end of the new sensor but I'm not getting a reading and the fault lights are still on. BIG QUESTION: Other than cannibalizing a used R53, does anyone know a source for the male ABS sensor plug? P.S. Sensor brand is Bapmic, a German company. Thanks.
Get the "HELLA" brand it's an OEM for MINI, this is the one I installed with, I worked on my R53 knuckles when the pinch BOLT snapped on me. Need to replace the whole knuckle and ofcourse I need new abs sensor, the old one seized on the other busted knuckle.
No issues so far no ABS lights on, no error codes pending on scanner... No nothing. My only issue is the airbag light ON that I am trying to get rid off.
here's the part #: 34526756384

Allmag seems to have the ABS plug, body side

The wheel bearing surface the sensor reads could be bunged up with dirt and such, but most commonly i found that its the dang sensor that needs replacing again. I have only had luck with 2 brands personally, Hella as mentioned and Delphi. I have had brand new sensors of other brands not work immediately upon installation but switching to a Delphi solved it instantly.
Best of luck
