Yeah, I looked when I was doing my thermostat. Nothing on the 'front'/passenger side of the engine looks to be fun to work on.
I've got a whiny pulley, not looking forward to anything involving fixing that.
Edit: OP says F57, not sure if that's a mistake or if they posted in the wrong subforum.
F57 would be a 3rd gen...
Yep then the picture above is the alt for your car. On the back of the alt it should be printed with some number that can be cross refed to the voltage and amp of the part.
Any repair in this area of the B38/48 is a pain. However if you have a leak only at the water pump (serpentine belt side of engine) and not at/also the thermostat, you can replace the water pump
through the wheel well and not have to remove the alternator. Remove the passenger front wheel, plastic wheel liner, remove serpentine belt. It's a tight fit but reaching upwards unbolt
the water pump and pull it off. If there is a leak at the thermostat (facing front of engine), alternator bracket which houses water pump and thermostat must be removed and entire unit replaced.
This requires alternator to be removed, radiator fan, various engine trim pieces and likely AC compressor.
