Brake rotors with set screw to the left of the bolt hole?

I got a new to me 06 R53 and when checking out the rotors, I noticed there isn’t a set screw to hold the rotor in place while mounting the wheel.

so, I removed the rotor and noticed that the hole for the set screw does not line up in the same location as hole in the wheel hub/bearing. It is to the right of a wheel bolt hole as compared to the rotor which has it to the left.

the rotor is branded Mini so that is OEM. Don’t know what the wheel bearings are.

Could this car have wheel bearings for a different model? Can I find rotors with the set screw that matches up?

it’s a pain lining everything up when trying to bolt up a wheel.

I haven’t taken the rear wheels off to check yet.

I know they aren’t necessary but they do make mounting wheels back on easier.

I was curious to see if anyone else has come upon this as this discrepancy seems odd.

From memory, the disk is good the hub is wrong.
The newish looking axel nut sort of confirms it.

Tbh I wouldn't change it, untill it goes bad. Hubs are not cheap parts.

The set screw is simply there to hold the rotor in place prior to installation of the lug nuts. It's not necessary.

That's interesting. I replaced my rear wheel hubs/bearings when I put R56 trailing arms on my car. I do not remember having any issues with the brake rotor set screws. Perhaps you could use those mounting studs that are available for car with wheel bolts to ease the wheel installation instead of trying to line up the holes in the brake rotor with the holes in the hub with the holes in the wheel?
