R60 Installed cloned ECM, Transmission DTC's
Installed cloned ECM, Transmission DTC's
I recently fried the ECM in my 2012 turbocharged , manual 6 speed, Countryman All4 S when I replaced the valve cover gasket.....f@%&^#ground @$$@&wire.......
After testing and self diagnosing, along with info gained from a thread here, i determined that I most likely shorted the ECM (at minimum). I found a company in PA. and sent my ECM, CAS, and keyfob for testing. They did find unrepairable issues on the main board of my ECM but were able to extract my cars info and clone it for a 1/3 the price of a new one.
I'd like to take a moment and thank the design engineers at MC for the time and effort it took in finding such an accessible spot to install the CAS module. ( search 2012 Countryman CAS module location).
I apologize...lol. After reinstalling EvEryThing and clearing codes It was time to start her up. Everything went smooth. Fired right up, idled down, and let it run for about 5-10min while I checked everything out. Stopped the engine and checked for DTC's and found 3 codes. All three codes showed both pending and permanent. (U110F, U111A, P0193). I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor (P0193) When i took it for a test drive drive around the block it felt very unresponsive and I could tell I had no boost from the turbo. Back in the driveway I checked for DTC"s. Still have U110F, and U111F which is confusing because both of those are for Non-communication or lack of info from my TCM. Uhhhhh........It's a manual 6 speed. It has no transmission control module. Could these two codes, and the lack of communication between the ECM and TCM cause the turbo not to boost? Am I missing something? I've checked all connections and hoses but haven't checked all fuses and relays yet because the temp outside dropped considerably as the sun went down. Will check in the morning. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Oof, bummer. Just missing reattaching that little ground wire on the back of the valve cover did it? That's lame as heck.
I don't know for certain on the ECM TCM comm's, but it does seem reasonable to me, that it wouldn't want to make boost. Also I'm not entirely certain there isn't a TCM. I realize it stands for transmission control module, and it's a manual. You said it's an ALL4, is the ALL4 handled my a different module than a TCM? Genuinely unsure.
My first step would be getting ahold of who flashed you a new ECM, maybe there was some level of data corruption in the read/write and tcm values were populated or something to that effect? Not to throw shade at them, but we're all human, and to be human is to err.
