Changed clutch and now MAP thermostat CEL is on?
About 2 weeks ago my son and I did the clutch on his 2009 Justa and now we're getting a MAP thermostat CEL that wasn't there when we started. We did pull the engine to do the clutch. We have an external gauge so we know the car isn't running hot, but we're in NY and the temps haven't gotten above 60 degree around here yet.
All plugs/wires appear to be in place and intact. We used a vacuum pump when refilling the coolant and bled the thermostat afterwards as well. We didn't touch the thermostat during the job, so I can't imagine how it worked before and doesn't work now?
Any thoughts on what we should do next? What we might have done to cause the CEL? How to clear it?
Thanks in advance!

If you've pulled the engine, I would suspect you have a wiring issue. When you're into it that much it's easy to misroute a wire or pinch the harness somewhere. MINI diagnostic trouble codes are very specific (circuit high/circuit low etc), so let us know which DTC you have. Also, It's also easy to damage things when your moving the engine and transmission assy about, so perform a good visual inspection and look for damaged wiring and connectors.
Last summer I changed a water pump on a Chevy Duramax 6.6L; no codes before I started, but crankshaft position sensor faults when I finished. I had pinched the crankshaft position sensor harness under one of the brackets and shorted the 5V reference circuit to ground. Oops.

The specific code is: 2EE5 - DME: Map thermostat, Activation
I was thinking wiring too but didn't see anything obvious. I will look more closely today. Any input on the actual code above is also appreciated.
Thanks,
Tristan

I'd have to guess that's exactly right. The thermostat is right there in "transmission removal tasks central", and could be bumped taking the bellhousing bolts out, removing the cables, pulling all the connectors and removing the modules in the area, or just wiggling the tranny out of the car.
