Aftermarket Lighting Issues

15’ R60S, running the VLAND taillights since fall of 2022. Recently noticed car started hyper flashing on left turn signal only (would happen every once in a while past ~2 months), has recently started doing it all the time. Came to realize the rear left turn signal wasn’t flashing at all, just my side marker and front light. Has now been on & off when the car feels like the turn signal should work vs it not working at all, looks like its connected to the “light out” warning because once that pops up the hyper flashing and no rear turn signal starts up. Downloaded/purchased bimmercode to see if I can code it out & that works but i’m a bit hesitant to mess around with the coding, any ideas/tips?

I suppose I would assume the supporting electronics of the LED's are failing (EDIT: local to the tail lamp, not on the vehicle harness side), and no coding will solve the problem. I might be misunderstanding something.

If the tail light turn signal is not lighting up at all, then its a problem with the light housing from vland. Coding is not going to fix the light being out, it will only keep the car from hyperflashing, which, sounds like the car hyperflashed when it was supposed to, when the light goes out.

Giving a little more context! Forgot to mention this in my og post, the reason i think it’s a coding issue is because I’ve seen both rear turn signals flash when unlocking/locking so i’m assuming *for now* something else is going on. One day they’ll both flash when unlocking/locking and then later in the day or the next day (once ive seen the light out warning pop up) the left rear signal stops working. Brake lights work, reverse lights work, only thing thats been going on & off is the left signal, first time ive seen anything like this 🤔

Do you still have the OEM lamp assemblies you can throw in, run for a few days and observe behavior?

Unfortunately long gone, hoping to get this fixed as is but i may have to try & find a left tail light only & replace it if it continues, kinda dangerous to drive without a left turn signal lol

The intermittent nature would lead me to still believe in a failing assembly. It stinks, but these things happen.

Maybe try a cheap used light on ebay?

Would make sense, not the best quality after market lights lol. Going to try & disassemble this weekend clean all connectors and plug back in see if that changes anything, if not then a used tail light will be going in sooner than later

take the tail lamp off and have a friend run your lights while you are using a test lamp at the connector
