After swapping out an iffy oxygen sensor and resetting the codes, I need to smog my 2003 R50 in CA and all of the monitors are ready except the CCM (Comprehensive Component Monitor). I’ve driven over 350 miles and it’s still not ready. I reset them again last night and attempted to do the specific drive cycles to the best of my ability with the roads I have around me. After 35 miles, all monitors were ready already except the CCM. I drove 40 more miles to work this morning attempting one of the drive cycle parameters and still not ready. Does anyone have any tips/experience with this? Does each step have to be done in succession or at least some point within the same “drive cycle session” i.e. without hitting 3k rpm or 60mph. Also to be noted, I filled up my tank before trying the drive cycles last night, as the other page for the cycles I found says that the fuel level has to be just 75% or above. In the attached screenshot it says 15% to 75%, so I suppose I’ll try more cycle procedures after the level drops to 3/4 tank
The readiness monitors do not need to be set in succession, and I do understand the fuel level should be between 15% - 75% full. I actually am not familiar with the "Comprehensive Component Monitor" but I know the various readiness monitors are set under different driving conditions. I have seen information that states what manner each monitor needs for the specific monitor to be set, so may try looking up that information. Some monitors will not run unless the car is started from a cold start and driven in the way the causes the monitor to run. If you are not pressed for time, just drive the car normally for a week or so and check to see if the last monitor has been set yet.

That’s for that advice. So after the fuel level dropped below 75% shortly after, the monitor became ready. The CEL for my upstream O2 sensor came back on so I resorted to swapping it out with the TRQ O2 sensor I bought for $36 on 1A Auto and the CEL went off right away. The car accelerates better too now. I’m thinking both original O2’s in the car are just old and starting to go out. I went straight to the smog check shop after the light went off and it passed easily, got my title transfer and registration completed! I’m pleasantly surprised that the TRQ sensor works well in the car, given that I’ve read a lot that anything other than the OEM NTK upstream sensor will throw codes or cause rough running.
