New Kids On The Block (ok, really new HS cars)
I saw on SCCA Forums that the Scion TC is now in HS. That car seems like it could be some good competition. It is heavy, and probably won't transition like a Mini. However, it should be able to run big-time camber in the front for sweeper performance; and the torque from the 2.4L(?) will get it out of the corners pretty nicely.
There are some other cars added to HS as well. Including the 2.2L Chevy Cobalts and Aveo, and the Kia Spectra 5. I have never driven a Cobalt, but have read good things about them. Who knows.
I'd expect that the Scion could make things interesting. I wonder how wide the wheels are? Toyota usually specs 'relatively' wide wheels. Get some 225's on that thing with a couple degrees of camber, and it could put a hurtin' on a Mini in the sweepers.

Which Colbalt though?? The top of the line has a bunch of power compared to the MC that is. Does anyone know what the power to weight is? The wheels are kinda big (lots of lbs there). I was thinking of test driving one but I am still to new to the sport to be sure if I could fairly judge if it's a better car by a test drive. To much snow in the parking lots anyway.
AND NO I am not considering trading my Cooper for a Cobalt!

The Cobalt is mechanicly a clone of the Saturn ION. Since the 2.2 liter ION has made no impact on HS, there's no reason to think the Cobalt 2.2 will. That said, watch for the normally aspirated Cobalt SS and ION Red Line models coming later this year. With similar(same?) suspension tuning as their supercharged stablemates and a 170 hp variable valve timing 2.4 under the hood they might be reasonably competitive in HS, assuming that's where they land.

Edited 1 minute later: Oh, I see that H-stock is the Cooper.

Toyota "crash bolts" in the manual (trust me)
Fully adjustable rear suspension (same trust)

can you post a link to that info about the cobalt in HS?
If that's true I hope they move my sunfire down there too. I'm getting slaughtered in GS.
The scion is a heavy celica for all intensive purposes. The scca's classifications don't compensate for current automobiles.
But then again the rule is they'll give you a place to run it, competitiveness isn't garunteed.
The coopers shuould still prevail pretty well.
