New VLAND (ZIZA) LED Headlight Retrofit for F55/56
I just got done installing my new LED headlights for my F55 S. It took a couple hours because I had to adjust the position of the lights, fix an issue with one of the connectors and also take the front wheels off each side of the car a couple of times to get back in and adjust the connections of the wiring harness.
I also figured out how to get the bolts out of the light mounting brackets without breaking anything. I first squirted them with 99% rubbing alcohol which helps to break down the loctite on the threads. Then applied liquid wrench and let it all sit for 20-25 mins. Slowly started turning my T-30 screwdriver and all of them came out without issue. This is a nearly 10 year old car (produced in mid-2015) and as far as I can tell they have never been out of the car before. I wanted to get the LED lights that look more like the OEM set but they were $650-1200 depending on where I looked from AliExpress to ECS Tuning, and I was able to get these on AliExpress for $276 including shipping and they shipped within 5 days from the US. Let me know what you think about how they look. I’m going to upgrade the fogs to LED soon, but I really wanted to get the old halogen headlights done first for visibility purposes and also because they looked bad due to age.
Here are some photos from the install and some showing them on. I tried to upload a longer video but it kept getting hung up due to the size. These are made by VLAND (in China of course). You can see videos of their full functionality including how the DRL looks on YouTube if you type in “VLAND F56” into the search bar.
