R56 Reliable Min with good MPG
Reliable Min with good MPG
Replacing my 2009 Base with 242K miles.
Looking at a 2011 S with 104K miles. How's the reliability and mpg vs my base?
Any suggestions for the most trouble free Mini (spare the gloom and jokes, as I said, I've done 242K on my 2009 and am aware that there will be issues).
Thanks!!!

An early N18 engine that has been well cared for should serve you pretty well. I have an early 2012 N18 Clubman that recently clicked over 198k miles, and it still runs pretty good. I perform oil changes every 5000 miles, and the engine has never been opened up. Still running original timing chain. I have replaced the thermostat twice, and replaced the clutch and flywheel at 135k miles. I am convinced that these cars like to be driven, and will last longer when taken care of. I have a stage 2 tune, also. The tune has been loaded for most of its life, too. All that being said, she still returns 31mpg average, too.
