8088 GB remanufacturing seal kit for fuel injectors
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has used the GB remanufacturing seal kit with part number 8088. I bought four kits from RockAuto and the teflon seal that goes near the bottom of the injector seems a bit smaller then what was already on the injector. I have pictures attached. Should I return these and get something else?
Thanks
In the picture below you can see the seal dosnt fill up the whole space.
In the picture below you can see that the original seal which is white is a bit taller and fits the space perfectly and snug.
I've had the same problem with GB fuel injector seals on a Genesis G80 I was working on. You have to have the GP special tool kit to install those seals. Here's a link.
GB has videos on their website on how to use the tool. If you don't get those seal exactly right, you'll have really fun to deal with fuel leaks.
Also, GB has an 800 number. Their tech support guys are great. Tell them about your problem, get their email, and send them the pictures.
On the G80 some idiot at GB packaged the incorrect back-up rings with my seals stating (they were a suitable substitute); they were not, and caused massive fuel leaks.
I was emailing Rockauto back and forth and they told me that the manufacturer confirmed that the combustion seals were incorrect. They want me to return the product for a refund and not an exchange. The other seal kit they have at Rock Auto is like $90 bucks lol. For that much money I can buy brand new Bosch injectors from ECS. I am going to get the Bosch seal kit from Pelican at $20 which is an easier pill to swallow.
