R60 Blowing fuse 4 in Engine bay
Hi all,
I'm trying to get to the bottom of an electrical issue I'm having, The car is a Mini Countryman 1.6 Petrol and it was getting a lot of water in the passenger side. After removing the carpet and drying out all the electrical connections, it's still blowing fuse no.4 in the engine bay. I've checked all the connections inside the car in the fuse panel by the passenger side and they all look fine. I thought the pool of water was causing a poor ground which was causing the short circuit but it seems like its still occurring when the car is dry inside. Any ideas? I can't find a good wiring diagram, but what I've found is that the faults I was getting in the ECU (Vanos solenoids, Oil pressure control unit, Fuel tank vent valve, Thermostat, MAF) All seem to share a common power (term 87 on DDE i believe) but I can't see where they go into the car.
Any ideas? I'm stumped here.

The faults in the ECU related to the sensors shown at the bottom of the photo, they go back to the DME to term 87
Term 87 is also receiving power from 13 red/vio which leads to the next photo
13 red/vio goes to 9 which is power from fuse 4. Would I be right in assuming a short in the DME caused by water getting into the passenger foot well is now causing fuse 4 to blow?
What is powered by fuse 4? Is it ONLY term 87 of the DME? If you're prepared to solder the wire back together, you could cut the red/vlt and see if the fuse still blows. 20 amps seems like a lot for just going to the DME, but I'm far from knowledgeable about MINI electronic systems.
