20 psi of boost?

After taking my r60 countryman out for a test run, the car is reporting 20psi of max boost with it settling around 18psi. Is this something for concern? Everything is stock in the car, no after market modifications. May be a problem with the wastegate is what I've heard.

I just replaced my stock turbo because of a failed wastegate that wouldn't close. Now I too am seeing 18 to 20 PSI of boost... Seems everyone here has the opposite issue and no one knows about to much boost. I'm scared to really drive the car until I sort this out as I don't want to break pistons or ringlands from the higher pressure.

I've been running and driving on mine for years at this point. Everything has been fine, even will pulls up to 20psi. I wouldn't worry about it too much just wouldn't recommend going that high every single day. Car has been daily driven for years with no problems.

Well, i just pulled the O2 sensor and upper heat shield. was then able to get a socket and extension on the lock nut for the wastegate actuator rod and loosened it one turn then tightened the inner nut with a wrench. Boost level is now down to a peak of 15 psi when i floor it. I may try moving it a touch more when it cools off.
