Matte PPF film on body and Pillar trim,
Gloss beltline, emblems, gas cap, headlight surround, grille surround, door and boot handles...


Would a matte PPF obscure the special 1to6 Vinyl Stripe?
Pro's / Con's of a matte PPF?
Thoughts?

 

@TacticalTortoise I don’t believe the matte film will fully obscure stripe, it will just be a little darker.

Personally I’m not a big fan of matte film, I love seeing the MINI’s color pop when fully detailed and protected.

I believe matte film has the same self healing and UV protection properties as the non-matte film.

On my Hopkirk edition I have the traditional clear film and it made the bonnet stripe more pronounced.

I've since given it a wash since picking it up, and the 1to6 is stunning in all glossy black to be sure. I've got a week to make a choice.

I have to agree, Midnight Black II is a stunning color and you have time to think about it.

I Think it turned out amazing!!11!

​​​​​​Did full PPF wrap, tinted rear windows(staying legal in my jurisdiction),and a nice Ceramic coat to help keep things clean.

The 1to6 stripe is very thick vinyl from the factory. we wrapped over it with the stealth PPF then added a strip of gloss on top. The installer came up with the idea of the thin strips of gloss black on the edges of the stripe to hide the seam where the PPF goes over the pre installed stripe.

​​​​​the hood stripe stands out more now than it did by default. BMW/Mini media pictures make it look much brighter than it is in person.
