R50/53 R50, CVT Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor
R50, CVT Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor
We have 2 2004 Mini Cooper R50s (both with CVT). My son's recently started throwing an EP error and I checked it today with an INPA error 1811, Transmission fluid temperature sensor circuit, input high. If I clear the code it flashes "P" on the dash then immediately back to EP, with same error registered in INPA.
I've swapped CVTs and engines on these cars but do not remember a TFT Sensor (Transmission Fluid Temperature) on the outside of these (just the main plug, neutral safety (inhibitor), and another for the output speed sensor). Anyone know if the TFT is serviceable with the pan removed, or under the valve body?
