CVT Fluid, who's got the know how?

Basically in my store, we carry Pentosin products, which cover a large percentage of European and Japanese market cars. Unfortunately, our MINI's are one the first cars I've come across where I don't have the ability to carry a CVT based fluid for them. ( Only other cars were the Acura/Honda Z fluid, which is covered by Valvoline Max Life)

Now we do carry Valvoline CVT specific fluid that says it is recommended for use in our transmissions, but I'm getting conflicting answers of either being able to use this, or stay with MINI ( Part# 83 22 0 136 376, now superceeded to 83 22 0 429 154) What's the general concensus around here? I'm looking to replace the trans filter soon, so I just want to know if I should just sit on it another wee ktill the proper fluid comes in, or if using Valvoline is a go.

( Though it is recommended for MINI, I see Honda, Jeep, GM, Mitsubishi, Nissan, etc on the label, my problem is unecessary mineral added to it to meet their specs, if it will interfere with what they ask for in our transmissions.)

Thank you, though I notice it's recommended for R50, and R52 base vehicles. Is there anything you have that's R53 compatible, or would that work just the same?

the R53 have six-speed Aisin automatic transmission - also fluid is supposedly "lifetime"

Once again thanks for the info, I saved myself alot of headaches. I just puchase the transmission filter through RMeuropean.com and 5 liters (enough for a fluid change of two, and some incase to top off) of 83-22-0-402-413 Febi fluid. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive, and for the fun to begin.
