Best ABS wheel speed sensor brand?

Had the trifecta a couple months ago, fixed it by cleaning all the sensors and reinstalling, lights went out immediately. Maybe surprisingly or unsurprisingly and before I tried cleaning my factory ones, I bought all four new sensors from RockAuto, URO brand, and not a single one worked. So, two questions: 1. Do new sensors need to be coded to the car? When I cleaned and reinstalled the old ones, the lights went away immediately. With the new sensors installed, the lights stayed on, my speedometer didn't work, etc. 2. OEM brand sensors are ridiculously priced, is there a trusted brand to use instead? Thank you

You could check FCP Euro as they identify OEM and OE parts suppliers and they sell MINI parts so you can compare easily. Looks like this particular part does not have many identified compared to other parts:

I have used VDO in the past as they are the OEM supplier on these. Now its Delphi i believe. I replaced maybe 8 of these between 3 MINI.

I have also used some lower cost aftermarkets and they were fine, the biggest problem on these sensors is the prep and removal part. You can easily break the heads of a high dollar and low dollar part. Also the way their are made its easy to bend and break the pins into the female side. Then they look like the fail right out of the box.

Also if the head of the senor is too tight on the insert you can very lightly shave the extra plastic off. That way they insert.

Thank you. I know I didn't damage any pins, checked those when the URO ones didn't work. Still not sure why they didn't. And my old ones came out really easily, nothing was broken on the old or URO parts. I'll check out Delphi per your recommendation.

Good idea to check FCP, they also have a lifetime warranty on most of their parts.

Glad to help.

The pins get bent a little and then dont make contact with the other side of the plug, sometime that plug side on the body get messed up on the pins in the process.

We have lifetime also and we have tons of performance parts (ECS also) and aftermarket (Bremmen Parts) they don't even come close to carry, most are covered under lifetime also.
