Looking for some help from anyone that might have the ECS tow hook setup.

This shoulder bolt is out of stock, est. to ship in June, and I am wanting to use this in a track day in a couple weeks. I have all the other pieces. I don't have any hardware that matches in my garage and the hardware stores near me are always light on metric options. If I can find the right specs I am hoping to grab something that will suffice from McMaster Carr or the likes online. I sat on hold for a while with ECS and I figured I might have better luck here.

I am pretty confident it is an M10 bolt. An M10 with 1.5 pitch starts to thread, but doesn't go far so it's probably not the right pitch. I think the overall length is around 50mm, but knowing what of that length is threaded and what is shoulder would be helpful.

Does anyone have this kit and can take some measurements on this bolt?

 

Looked at the pics of the OE tow eye (72157953893). Thread profile appears to be semi-square - no way a v-profile thread will engage.
Key take-away: I don't believe you'll find an off the shelf item that will work.

I don't track so I don't know why you are not using the OE tow eye, care to provide context?

 

My car didn't come with an OEM tow eye (used purchase). I did grab one of those from ECS in the same order though. My aim was for a solution that could easily support a camera mount as well and I wanted to have front and rear tow hook options that some organizations prefer or even require.

 

Understood - thought there might a special track requirement
