Squeaking noise from steering - R60 CM S ALL4

Hey all, first time posting here but I've been reading through some old posts and haven't found anything similar, hoping someone can help me out.
So recently I've noticed that while dry steering (I know I shouldn't but sometimes it's unavoidable) or steering at parking lot speeds there's a like a squeaking noise coming from what I think is the power steering system. This is my first Mini and I've only owned it for a 2 years so I'm still learning about it's quirks. I found out that it uses an electric power steering system when I went to go check the fluid which doesn't exist. Are these systems known to have issues? Saw someone saying it costed them around 2 grand to have it replaced, am I doomed to that fate?
Please if you have any insight about this it would be much appreciated!!

Most of the time its the strut mounts or the steering link U joint to the steering rack. Steering rack is full electric. no fluid to change or ad.

You need to turn the wheel slow in the parking lot and have some else listen outside the car.
