How tight for hood latches?? redid hood lock system
Hey Mini crew, I rebuilt/replaced the entire hood locking system on my 2014 MCS. It failed and locked the hood which was a nightmare to get open. I have a question though, these hood latches can screw all the way in or anywhere in between. I tried screwing in all the way until tight but the hood wont lock (only 1 click, not 2 clicks ie locked all the way) when doing so. I tried about half-way, and now it locks but seems sort've loose. Is there any guidance on how much to screw them in?
I added a pic and a video for reference Thanks to any that can advise! This piece is screwed into the desired depth, then a plastic retainer cover is placed over them to lock into place.
