Thanks for helping, 2012 R56 approximately 190k in miles. Everything was going fine while driving to work when suddenly made a crazy rattle. Hit neutral in the car shut itself off, was able to Coast it away and later tow car home. Attached are some pictures, I've never seen anything like this before do you guys have any clues? It threw an exhaust rocker for cylinder number three, timing chain feels tight, well rotating engine, I have not dropped the pen to check for timing chain guide pieces yet but I will in the morning. Any information or clues or help you guys have I would love, thanks! When I took the cover off I don't think the lobe appears to be marred, what do you guys say This is where I found number three exhaust rocker
Yep! Been there! Done that! You've dropped a valve seat on cylinder 3. Perform a lead-down test to confirm. When the seat drops, the valve can't close all the way; that creates slack between the camshaft, roller rocker, and the tip of the valve stem. When there's slack, the rocker will fall out. The cylinder head must come out
Contact Allied cylinder head in Atlanta, GA, and make sure you have all thevalve seats replaced with these.
Notice the new SBI seats are much deeper that the OEM valve seats ... the new seats are less likely to fall out. Make sure to specify a .010" press fit, but the machine shop will already know that.
Scan the engine computer and you're going to see a P0303 (OBDII) for the misfires in cylinder 3. You may have other cylinders misfiring too.

thank you all so much! You guys are my alumni juggernauts, you always help me figure and fix.
would you guys recommend Milling the head extra to increase compression or is there not enough clearance for the valves? Yeah I know it's a just-a-mini, but i care about it and love driving it
No!!!. That engine is already 11:1 compression. Only machine the head to get it within specifications. If you have to mill too much; there's are two cylinder head gaskets 1. The original .090" and 2. the .120". Use the .120" gasket if you have to mill too much off the head. To define too much; talk with your machine shop.
