MMR vs. Wagner Intercooler

Looking at getting a new intercooler and I’ve come down to choosing between the MMR performance intercooler and the Wagner competition intercooler and can’t decide which one would be best.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with either one of them and could lend some insight into pros and cons of each.

Thanks in advance and keep motoring!

I dont think you can go wrong with either, both are made pretty well. The wagner one was one of the first in the F56 game.

MMR is in the UK and part of Racingline that does items for VW. Both have similar size. Black coating. Perfect fit.

I was looking at both on your guys website and tried doing some googling but couldn’t find a whole lot besides just technical specs. I have been leaning more towards the Wagner though and will probably end up with that one but wanted to get a second opinion from others.

I also plan on upgrading the charge and boost pipes when I put in the intercooler so are there any specific brands or ones you would recommend that would fit best with the Wagner?

Hello,

Glad to help. Wagner was one of the first in the game with that intercooler, i know that.

The tube all fit the stock tube which all those brand connect to. That way you can chose what you want. Very modular. The hard pipes are the most popular upgrade for the Gen 3 MINI where in the Gen 2 its silicone. We have our own in stock, black finish to match.

I have read that the intake pipes and charge/boost pipes are good upgrades since the factory ones are plastic and not suited for added boost pressure and expansion so can fail more easily. I have a Forge turbo inlet pipe that I’m waiting to install so might has well do the whole intake system together if I can and save myself some time haha.

Wagner. Installed on my JCW several years ago and never looked back. Get the competition model.
